this piece draws its inspiration from the expression “hayyun ba’eed, mayyit qareeb” - meaning the living are far away while the dead remain close. this expression felt by many reflects the emotional closeness to people who have passed away, and, conversely, the psychological distance from people who are still physically present in our lives.
the words "hayyun ba’eed” and “mayyit qareeb” blend with the intertwining elements and visual depth, expressing the intensity of emotions and the complexity of human lifetime. each element becomes a reflection of the struggle between closeness and distance, between loss and life.
